LAHORE: Supreme court of Pakistan ‘Lahore Registry’ has rejected the bail plea of of Excise and Taxation department clerk Ahsan Ikhlaq who is involved in embezzlement of Rs 12 million case. The officials of anti curruption department arrested Ahsan Ikhtaq outside court premises.
According to details, two members bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard the case. During hearing of the case the counsel of accused argued before the court that all the allegations against Ahsan Ikhlaq are baseless.
He informed the court that his client Ahsan Ikhlaq collected motor registration fees and deposited the same amount to cashier, he said that his client is ready to face inquairy so court should accept his temporary bail.
On the side the Excise and Taxation officer Muhammad Ahmed and Circle Officer Anti Corruption Rana Kaleem presented inquairy record and told the court that accused Ahsan Ikhlaq evaded Rs 12 million, Makki Ahmed Rs 2.8 million, Raffi Ullah Rs 5.75 million. All accused found involved in the embezzlement.
They informed the court that accused Makki Ahmed has already run away and is declared as abscondar.
After hearing the argument of both parties court rejected the temporary bail of senior clerk Ahsan Ikhlaq.
