ISLAMABAD: The exports of surgical goods and medical instruments have increased by 8.62 percent in two months of ongoing fiscal year as compared to the same period of last year.
During the period from the July-August, 2015, surgical goods and medical instruments worth $53.336 million exported as compared to $49.103 million of same period last year, said the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. In first two months of current financial year, exports of pharmaceutical products grew by 11.38 percent as about 2,228 metric tons of pharmaceutical products worth $33.772 million exported as against 2,475 metric tons valuing $30.321 million of same period last year.
The data revelled that exports of onyx manufactured increased by 6.18 percent as about 467 metric tons of the product valuing $ 1.530 million exported as against 427 metric tons worth $ 1.441 million of same period last year.
However, during the period under review, exports of cutlery decreased by 10.97 percent where as exports of pharma products and chemicals by 6.77 percent respectively.
In first two months of current financial year cutlery worth 0.12 million exported as compared to $ 0.13 million exports of same period last year. Meanwhile, the exports of chemicals and pharma products came down to $ 172.039 million in period from July-August, 2015 as against the exports of $ 184.526 million recorded during the same period of last financial year.
