Suspected Malaysian drug dealer shot dead

KAULA LUMPUR: The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has shot dead a Malaysian citizen, Eng Aun alias Piter, who allegedly smuggled ecstasy pills and methamphetamine to West Kalimantan.

The suspect was shot dead while trying to escape from custody and attacking the agency`s personnel, BNN Deputy of Eradication Inspector General (Pol) Arman Depari, stated here on Wednesday.

“The smuggling attempt was revealed based on information from the public, which was then followed up by our investigation,” Depari remarked.

The authority has also arrested another suspect EA, an Indonesian who played his role as courier, and seized 30 thousand ecstasy pills and two kilograms of methamphetamine.

“Previously, on Tuesday, we received information on the attempt to smuggle ecstasy pills and methamphetamine from Kuching, Malaysia, to Indonesia, via Sanggau in West Kalimantan,” he elaborated.

Responding to the information, BNN and the customs office monitored the Trans Kalimantan route and arrested EA, who drove a car with license plate number KB 1437 SN.
