“The United States is a welcoming nation; however, CBP remains ever vigilant in intercepting travelers who are suspected of violating our laws and require further scrutiny,” said CBP Area Port Director Wayne Biondi.

CBP officers verified the warrant and confirmed extradition. They arrested Montoya and turned him over to airport authorities.

Montoya is a permanent resident in the U.S., which means that he will be returned to CBP upon the adjudication of any charges for further immigration processing. On average, CBP arrests 21 wanted persons each day at ports of entry nationwide.
