NEW DELHI: Suzuki, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the updated version of its lifestyle utility vehicle- the Maruti Ertiga at the ongoing 2015 GIIAS. The 2015 Ertiga gets changes to both exterior styling and interior, and offers improved fuel efficiency.
Upfront, the 2015 Ertiga gets a wider three-slat chrome grille that runs across the width of the front. The new bumper features a smaller air dam and the fog lamps come with chrome surrounds. On sides, the Ertiga facelift looks largely identical to the current model, but it now gets newly designed alloy wheels. At the back, there is a thick chrome bar that runs between the tail lamps, while the bootlid now feature reflectors near the tail lamps.
The interior styling of the model looks largely identical to the current model. It now gets new upholstery, 50:50 folding third row seats, electric folding wing mirrors, driver side window auto-up function and new interior trim colours. The NVH levels in the cabin is also claimed to have improved. The India-spec model is likely to get keyless entry and go, Maruti’s Smartplay infotainment system and climate control.
Mechanically, the 2015 Ertiga is expected to remain unchanged; however, the engines will be tweaked to offer improved fuel efficiency. Powering the Ertiga is a 1.4-litre K14 Petrol engine that produces 91.37bhp, which is down from the current 93.7bhp. It is expected that the oil burner- 1.3-litre MJD unit will also get similar changes.
