Switzerland’s foreign trade surplus drops CHF 2.47 billion in Feb

BERN: According to Swiss Federal Customs administration, foreign trade surplus of Switzerland decreased in February 2015. The trade surplus in January was CHF3.41 billion which decreased in around CHF 2.47 billion in February.

“As exports fell and imports rose in result foreign surplus decreased” Swiss Federal Customs Administration stated.

Exports dropped a seasonally adjusted 3.2 percent in February, in contrast to a 0.9 percent increase in the previous month. Annually, exports fell by real 3.9 percent after a 5.8 percent decline in the prior month. While At the same time, imports grew 1.8 percent monthly in February, reversing a 2.6 percent in decrease in January.
