The FBR had earlier announced, on August 22, 2025, the appointment of Shakeel Shah to this key role. He succeeds Wajid Ali, a BS-22 officer of PCS, who has been transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (South), Karachi.

Shakeel Shah brings extensive operational experience to his new assignment. His expertise in customs administration, tax revenue mobilization, and anti-smuggling measures is expected to contribute to improved performance in the sector.
