ISLAMABAD: The Customs House Taftan Quetta earned Rs727.15million of all duties and taxes during the month of March FY2017-18.
According to details explained by the sources of Model Customs Collectorate Quetta that the Customs House Taftan generated an extra revenue against an allocated revenue target as Customs Duty (CD) and Sales Tax (ST). It was told that Taftan was not earmarked revenue targets for other heads like With Holding Tax (WHT) and Federal Excise Duty (FED).
The Customs House Taftan received Rs267.56million revenue against an assigned target of Rs212million. The Taftan collected an extra revenue of Rs55million under the same head against an earmarked revenue target for the month of March FY17-18.
Taftan got Rs317.68million against an allocated revenue target of Rs311million of ST. It was disclosed that Taftan generated an extra revenue of Rs6.68million against an assigned target for above said duration. Taftan received Rs114.99million under the head of WHT while it did Rs26.917million of FED during March FY17-18.
The Customs House Taftan is located at a distance of 645km from Quetta at Pakistan-Iran Border. The trade routes with Iran are historic and also connect Pakistan through Iran to the Central Asian States, Middle East and Europe (Via Turkey). Major volume of trade is being handled through the border of Taftan with Iran.
