TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks rose on Tuesday, in line with other regional markets and led by gains in semiconductors and food subindexes.
The main TAIEX index rose 0.5 percent to 8,256.46 as of 0202 GMT, after closing down 1.1 percent in the previous session.
The electronics subindex rose 1 percent, boosted by semiconductors, which climbed 1.35 percent after tumbling 2 percent in the previous session.
