TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks fell 0.17 per cent in cautious trading early on Friday as some investors took profit, but suppliers for Apple Inc outperformed the market.
The main TAIEX index was down at 9,720.29 at 0215 GMT. On Thursday, it hit a more than seven-year high.
Apple supplier and flat panel maker TPK Holdings jumped 4 per cent and camera phone lenses maker Largan Precision added 0.4 per cent.
Among the losers, banking shares shed 0.4 per cent.
The Taiwan dollar was up 0.13 per cent to stand at T$31.461 to the US dollar.
