TAIPEI: Taiwan’s state-owned refiner CPC issued an alert Friday morning saying it would be unable to process bunker fuel customs declarations at Taichung port on Friday afternoon because of a company scheduled internet maintenance.
Due to the maintenance, bunker fuel nominations with delivery dates from April 21-23 should be sent to CPC before 12 pm (0400 GMT) Friday, the statement added.
Bunker fuel prices are based on CPC’s posted prices, with spot MF-380 prices listed at $438/mt at the ports of Kaohsiung, Taichung and Keelung, while MF-380 prices listed for the ports of Hualien and Suao are at $454/mt, according to the company’s website Friday.
Bunker fuel prices generally tend to be more expensive at Taiwan compared with the same bunker fuel grade available at other regional ports, with traders saying this usually results in minimal impact on the bunkering industry during periods of routine maintenance activities at Taiwan.
