Tariq Bajwa holds meetings with high officials of Pak Customs

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa has held a series of meetings with the senior officials of Pakistan Customs at Custom House in Karachi. Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan was also present on the occasion.

FBR chairman held meetings with the Chief Collectors Nasir Masroor Ahmad, Muhammad Yahya, Collector Preventive S M Tariq Huda, Collector MCC-Appraisement (East) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Abbasi,  Collector MCC-Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem, Collector MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim Dr Jawwad Owais Agha, Director Customs Valuation Surriya Butt, Project Director of Directorate of Reforms & Automation Majid Yousufani and other senior officers.

In the meetings, FBR chairman stressed upon the need to enhance the revenue collection status and ensure fast recovery of evaded amount. He further urged the senior officers to evolve an effective strategy to attain the desirable revenue targets while utilizing the best available resources of the department.

On the occasion, Tariq Bajwa asked the Project Director (PD) Directorate of Reforms & Automation Majid Yousufani to ensure early upgradation of the remaining modules in WeBOC in order to facilitate the stakeholders.

He also reviewed the performance of Enforcement-South Region and other sections and hailed the efforts of Enforcement officials.

Earlier, Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan, Chief Collector Enforcement South Region Muhammad Yahya, Collector Preventive S M Tariq Huda, Additional Collector Headquarters-I Shafqat Ali Khan Niazi, Assistant Collector, Preventive  Muhammad Wasif Malik and other preventive staffers welcomed the chairman.

On the occasion, the Preventive staffers displayed the bags of seized 948 liquor bottles, which were detained by the customs officials during raids at different check-posts.

Tariq Bajwa hailed the performance of Enforcement South Region and encouraged them to continue their tremendous work to thwart the smuggling of contraband items.
