Tariq Fazal reviews progress of development projects initiated under PSDP

ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CAD&D), Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, checked on the progress of the improvement ventures started under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) in the different appended bureaus of the CAD&D.

The minster was leading a meeting wherein he was advised by the authorities concerned of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the Poly Clinic, Federal Directorate of Education(FDE), the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) in regards to the advance of their individual offices.

According to the official statement issued by the CAD&D, Chaudhry was informed that Rs. 2562.237 million had been allocated for 26 development projects of the CA&DD for the financial year 2016-17. Out of this Rs. 1508.836 million had been allocated for 12 ongoing projects and Rs. 1053.401 million for 14 new schemes. Under the PSDP there are 10 projects in the health sector, 10 projects in the education sector, four in the CDA and two in the Special Education sector.

The health sector projects include establishment of a Centre for Haematology Disorder at the PIMS, establishment of a Federal Breast Cancer Screening Center at the PIMS, establishment of a centre for neuro-sciences at the PIMS, establishment of an Unit for Shredding, Sterilisation and Disposal of Medical Waste at thePIMS, Upgradation of Modern Endoscopy Diagnostic Services, Upgradation of X-Ray machines at the Radiology Department and extension of the Poly Clinic Hospital.

The projects in the education sector include establishment of an Islamabad Model School for Girls, PAF Complex, E-9, uplifting of the Islamabad Model College for Boys, G-10/4, uplifting of the Islamabad Model School for Boys, G-11/2, by providing the physical infrastructure, uplifting of Islamabad Model School for Boys, G-6/4, construction of an Islamabad Model School for Girls (I-VIII) Khana Dak, construction of a new building of the Islamabad Model School for Boys (I-V), Mangial (FA), establishment of Smart schools in Islamabad, establishment of a Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Programme in Islamabad, establishment of a Federal Government College of Home Economics, Management Sciences & Specialized Disciplines, F-11/1, up-gradation of National Special Education Centre for Hearing Impaired Children from Higher Secondary to Graduation Level, H-9/4 and the establishment of a Resource Unit for Autistic Children at the National Special Education Centre for mentally retarded children at H-8/4.
