Tariq Huda’s Preventive shows outstanding performance in July-March

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Preventive, under the leadership of Collector SM Tariq Huda has has shown an extraordinary performance during the month of March 2016 as compared to the same month last year.

According to details, the FBR has given a target of Rs 95,909 million to the Customs Preventive from July to March 2016 and the collectorate surpassed the revenue target and collected Rs 10,584 million in the these months which is 10 percent increase in the target.

The Customs Collectorate, under directive of Collector SM Tariq Huda, seized smuggled goods worth Rs 2335.21 million from July to March involving duty/taxes of Rs 517.34 million.

However, the value of seized items last year remained at Rs 282.57 million involving duty/taxes Rs 80.58 million. The Collectorate also added some Rs 37.208 million to the national kitty by auctioning the seized goods.

While in action against smuggling of diesel, the Customs Preventive seized some 457,577 liters of Iranian diesel worth Rs 37.91 while the performance of the collectorate last year low as it had seized only 165,417 liters of diesel worth Rs 14.30 million.
