Tariq Pasha appointed as new FBR Chairman

ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Grade-22 Inland Revenue Service officer Tariq Mehmood Pasha, presently posted as Secretary Economic Affairs Division, as Chairman FBR and Secretary Revenue Division.

A notification, in this regard, has been issued by Deputy Secretary Establishment Division Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat on Monday evening, 3rd of July 2017. New FBR Chairman will assume the charge of his new office tomorrow (Tuesday).

He has the reputation of a disciplined and honest officer. Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Ex-chairman FBR Dr. Mohammad Irshad, Ex-FBR Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan, Chairman National Assembly Finance Committee Qaiser Sheikh, Chairman Senate Finance Committee Saleem Mandiwala, Member Operation Inland Revenue Rehamat Ullah Khan Wazir and Member Human Resource Management Rozi Khan Burki have congratulated him on becoming the chairman.

They hoped the new chairman will achieve the goals set for 2017-18. The FBR sources told Customs Today that, after assuming the charge as Chairman FBR and Secretary Revenue Division, he will chair a meeting of the Board at the FBR House.

In the Board’s meeting all the members of the Board will brief the new chairman about their sections. It is also expected that he will address a gathering of the FBR officers.
