NEW DELHI: Tata Motors, one of country’s oldest and leading car-maker, completed 2014 fairly well, owing to the success of its Zest compact sedan. Going by the company’s audacious approach, belligerent strategy, and under the able leadership of industry veteran Mayank Pareek, it has given a loud and clear message to all the contenders in the Indian auto industry – My Way or The Highway.

Well, coming to our primary topic of ‘Tata’s Launching in 2015 in India’; the company has already lined-up several promising vehicles for this year for its Indian fans. Lets us have a detailed look at the yet-to-be-launched products coming from Tata Motors, this year.

  1. Tata Bolt:

After months of waiting and unending speculations, Tata Motors would eventually launch the keenly-awaited Bolt hatchback on January 22, 2015 in India. Alright, first things first, Bolt made its global debut at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and adorns company’s latest design philosophy. Quite similar to its sibling Zest, it falls under Tata’s HorizonNext strategy and based on slightly modified Vista platform.

A special mention goes to its drive selector mode, which makes it the first hatchback in the country to have it. The exuberant exterior appearance, impeccable interior cabin and trustworthy powertrains make it a product to watch out for! Tata Motors has already started the pre-orders for Rs. 11,000 at it official website. So one can go straight there and own it, hassle-free.

  1. Tata Safari Storme Facelift:

Safari Storme, a highly-ambitious product from Tata Motors, hit the Indian roads firstly in 2012. Despite being thoroughly modified, including new chassis and engine, it failed to make the desired impact amidst the auto enthusiasts.

Hence, the company, in an awe to revive the glory of Safari Storme is introducing a facelift version by mid 2015 in the country. Tata Safari Storme facelift would have substantial cosmetic changes at the outside as well as inside.

What attracts most in the new version is the ditching of opposite-facing twin jump-seat arrangement in favour of a front-facing third row. Also, all new dashboard along with a new touch-screen infotainment system are icing on the cake.

This will be a HARMAN infotainment system and it will come with 10 speakers. The 2.2-litre VARiCOR engine will churn out 148bhp instead of the 139bhp, the same upgrade that the Aria got. It would be powerful and menacing, mechanically, as well. Expect a smashing Safari Storme on-board guys! We are optimistic for an automatic as well.

The pricing of the Safari Storme will be similar, but the top-of-the-line manual variant with 4×2 should cost Rs 14 lakhs (on-road). The Safari Storme facelift is due to be launched in May 2015.

  1. Tata Kite Twins: Sounds astounding, isn’t it – the name; but, luckily it’s a codename. Tata Motors’ is all set to introduce two all-new cars, out of which one would be a sub-compact hatchback and while, the other one would be entry-level sedan.

Being called as ‘Kite’ twins, this duo would come out by the end of 2015 and replace the ageing Indica and Indigo eCS. Both these cars would be offered in petrol and diesel fuel trims to maximize choice and impact. The petrol variants would be powered by a 1.2-litre motor, while the diesel ones would in-house a newly-developed 1.05-litre, 3-pot engine.

It is also in the air that the Kite siblings might boast the segment-first dual-DIN infotainment system sans touch-screen system. Tata had been extremely tight-lipped regarding the minutest details of this dynamic duo, but shutterbugs have eventually clicked them in their lenses, albeit completely camouflaged. Expect the Kite Twins to be launched sometime during the festive season. The pricing will be between Rs 4-7 lakhs (on-road) for both the hatchback and the sedan.
