LAHORE: The tax amnesty scheme has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on the basis of discrimination with the public.
According to the details, the applicant argued before the court that the federal government introduced the scheme to provide relief to the tax defaulters by giving them exemptions from filing of tax returns and audit of ten years.
The applicant further said that government was making discrimination between traders and public as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) took actions against the common men on not paying the tax but defaulters of millions of rupees were being facilitated by the government.
The pleader requests the court to declare the scheme as illegal.
