The Chief Collectors of Customs will liaise with the State Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan and other scheduled commercial banks in their respective jurisdiction to ensure transfer of the taxes collected by these branches to the respective offices of the State Bank of Pakistan on the same date and to account the same towards collection for the month of June, 2018.

In a communication sent to SBP, the FBR chairman said that a large number of people intend to make tax payments to avail foreign and domestic tax amnesty. “Since payment of tax in foreign exchange is to be made on declaration of foreign assets, SBP is requested to make special arrangement with extended working hours,” the FBR said.

In order to avoid difficulties of taxpayers in depositing the duty and taxes, the SBP and National Bank of Pakistan always cooperated.

For the purpose of taxpayers facilitation, it is requested that instructions should be issued to all the branches of SBP, the authorized branches of NBP and National Institute of Facilitation (NIF) to extend their working hours till 8:00 PM on Friday, June 29 and to keep the SBP and designated branches of NBP open on Saturday June 30 with working hours till 10:00 PM.

Arrangements may also be made to ensure that collection in branches of NBP up to June 30, 2018 is transferred to the SBP and reported accordingly.
