M/s Humair Associates imported a consignment of nut bolds and a 70-mm electric motor vehicle wire from Germany and got them cleared by mis-declaring the classification under the Pakistan Custom Tariff (PCT) from Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT). They allegedly availed undue and inadmissible benefit as well as exemption of sales tax.

It is pertinent to mention here that M/s Humair Associates itself has imported identical/same import under the correct PCT heading 2409.4556. Apart from it, all other importers of nut bolds and 70-mm electric motor vehicle have either been declared by the importers or assessed by the collectorates.

The Customs Adjudication-I has recovered Rs3.23million from M/s Zoobia and Company. The company was found involved in tax evasion and Collector Customs Adjudication-I Mohammad Javed has sent a show-cause notice to that company for allegedly causing the kitty a loss of Rs3.23million by way of mis-declaration of classification.
