Tax evader pleads not guilty in court

LAHORE: A man accused of tax evasion via bogus documents has told a court that he has paid Rs 4.3 million, Rs 2,000,000 in cash and a cheque of Rs 2,300,000.

Iqbal Sethi was involved in tax scam of almost Rs 4.3 million customs duty at the Faisalabad dry port on bogus documents. Iqbal was produced before the customs and taxation special judge on 8 December where he presented the documents of payment to the court. The accused imported ceramic tiles on bogus assessment and documents.
