Tax evasion: Customs Export starts probe against M/s Areeb Textile, M/s  Sami Garments

KARACHI: Customs Export authorities started investigations against M/s Areeb Textile International and M/s Sami Garments. Both of these companies are located in Gul Bai area.

Sources told Customs Today that both the companies are allegedly involved in taxes and duty evasion. Sources said that during scrutiny of import documents of M/s Areeb Textile International it was revealed that the company imported five consignments and availed undue concessions and benefits by using SRO 566 and 567. A final decision in this regard will be taken after conclusion of the inquiry.

Sources said that Customs Exports authorities also detected the same kind of tax and duty evasion during scrutiny of import data of M/s Saleem Brothers and Company. The company imported three consignments of shoes during the month of March and availed undue benefits by using wrong PCT heading. The company also caused a loss of Rs7,00,000 to national kitty.

Now Customs Export authorities issued final notice to the management of M/ Saleem Brothers and Company directing the company to deposit evaded tax and duty within seven days otherwise stern action will be taken against the company.
