Tax queries against Malik Riaz cost FBR officer heavily

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue’s Secretary Taxpayers Audit Mushtaq Ahmad Dar who was investigating tax issues against Bahria Town has been entangled in departmental inquiry by the Bahria Town administration which demands to make the inquiry report public.

Secretary Taxpayers Audit who was investigating tax cases against Bahria Town wrote letters to different sections of FBR which cost him heavily. Bahria Town leveled different charges against him and wrote an application against him to the FBR. On that, the FBR appointed Commissioner Inland Revenue Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq as head of inquiry committee. Bahria Town has been sent notice in this regard for presenting its point of view.

Bahria Town alleged that Dar is teasing Malik Riaz. Bahria Town leveled charges of illegal act and misconduct against Mushtaq Ahmad Dar and said that Bahria Town has settled all tax issues in CIR. Despite that, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar is writing letters to Field Formations for investigation.

The FBR has completed inquiry in this regard. However, the officer has not been held guilty but now Bahria Town administration is writing frequent letters to the FBR and demanding inquiry report to be made public and demanding action against him for teasing Malik Riaz.
