Tax officials asked to file assets returns by June 30

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue Member Administration Shahid Hussain Jatoi has directed all the officers and employees of the department to ensure the filing of their assets returns till June 30 otherwise do ready for discontinuation of the performance allowance and internal job posting allowance for three month.

The FBR has announce June 30 as last date for the submission of the returns, while some officials in administration have claimed that the last date could be extended for another 15 days.

In written orders, FBR’s administration has emphasized that all the employees of Inland Revenue Services and Pakistan Customs those remained fail in filing their returns in any last year must submit their assets details by the end of deadline.

It is important to mention here that some officers and employees of FBR have not even filed their assets declaration in the year 2012 and 2013.

On the other hand, official told that FBR was the only department which collected the returns of its employees regarding assets every year regularly, adding that other government departments was not following this rule.

Interestingly, FBR will securitize the assets declaration submitted by the employees to detect whether they having more than the income or not, while the employees have to present the evidence against their assets if the acquired more than the resources.

Member Admin, Shahid has also directed all employees to file the correct returns to avoid the departmental proceedings.
