ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has decided to audit tax payments of the government departments of last 15 years.
The country’s top revenue authority has written a letter to Finance Ministry to seek permission to verify the record of these departments. The Board wants to audit record of PIA, CDA, Pakistan Railways, OGDCL, Ogra, Pakistan Steel Mills and even of different housing societies.
The FBR has also been verifying record of different government departments but this year it wants to audit record of the last 15 years as the Board has found some ambiguities in figures of the returns filed by these departments.
