Tax Reforms Commission to meet officials of Large Taxpayer Unit Lahore on Jan 17

LAHORE: The Tax Reforms Commission will hold a meeting with officials of Large Taxpayer Unit Lahore here on January 17 regarding the policy change.

The matters related to sales tax, income tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty will be discussed in the meeting. An official said that the purpose of TRC is to increase the tax to GDP ratio. He said that LTU Lahore will present its suggestion to boost the tax collections and to overcome the tax evasion.

He added that LTU Lahore has started the work to compile the suggestion regarding the policy change for the upcoming fiscal year. He said there was lot of scope in sales tax generation and also FED could be increased by adopting the effective measures. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked Chairman TRC Masood Naqvi along with its members to attend the meeting on January 17 in Lahore.
