Tax Reforms Implementation Committee meeting held

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of high-powered tax reforms Implementation Committee was held here in the FBR House to review progress on implementation of various of its proposals for modernising the tax administration, enhancing tax revenue, reducing the quantum of underground economy and simplifying the tax laws among others.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Senator Haroon Akhtar Khan, Chairman FBR Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Chairman TRIC Masoud Naqvi, members of the TRIC and FBR Board were also present.

Various presentations from different committees constituted in previous meetings to review progress on a host of measures aimed at introducing a paradigm shift in the training model for tax administration, strengthening of tax audit functions and revenue generation measures for the upcoming budget, were given to the meeting.

The SA to Chairman and Members of the committee expressed their satisfaction with the pace of work and urged the committees concerned to strictly follow timelines in ensuring a timely completion of their assigned tasks.
