Tax refund related matters will be sorted out soon: APTMA

LAHORE: Achieving free market mechanism is a big achievement of APTMA besides resolving Sales Tax issues and cotton initiatives. Issues of sales tax refund and related matters will also be sorted out soon.

APTMA Punjab Chairman S M Tanveer said this at the annual general meeting at the APTMA Punjab House. The meeting was largely attended by the members from Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.

S M Tanveer said that it was an honour for him to assume the office of Chairman APTMA Punjab for the year 2013-14. He paid tributes to the outgoing Chairman Shahzad Ali Khan.

Dilating upon the issues concerning him for survival and growth of the textile industry, Tanveer said uninterrupted gas and electricity supply to the industry besides a uniform countrywide rate would be his top priority. He said that issues concerning to law and order, expansion and reorganisation of APTMA House Punjab, and setting up of an Advisory Council for issue-based input and advice would also be taken up ahead.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Chairman APTMA Punjab Shahzad Ali Khan welcomed the new management and expressed the hope that it would pick up threads where his team has left in the association.

Speaking on the occasion, Group Leader APTMA Gohar Ejaz congratulated the new management both in centre and Punjab zone. He hoped that the new management would continue with spirit of industry’s service.

Earlier, the members unanimously passed the annual accounts of the association besides other agenda items during the AGM.
