Tax returns file from July 1 stands at Rs2.475m: FBR

ISLAMABAD: The tax return file from July 1 to date has been recorded as Rs2.475 billion. Around 513,000 returns were filed in the same corresponding period of the year.

On the other hand, tax collection, after file of tax returns, amounted to Rs47.4 billion. However, in the same period, last income tax collection was around Rs9.8 billion

Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reiterated on Friday that today will be the last day to file the income tax returns and vowed that there will be no extension in the date.

The statement further said that more than Rs45 billion has been collected and the number of tax return fillers has exceeded 2.3 million, so far.

The FBR has also issued instructions to all the field offices to remain open and observe extended working hours till 08:00 pm on Friday to facilitate the taxpayers.

The tax collection body has further instructed that authorised branches of the National Bank of Pakistan to ensure the transfer of tax collection.

The online system is working efficiently and the authorised branches of the National Bank will also remain open till 8pm to facilitate the taxpayers, FBR said.
