KARACHI: Director of Intelligence and Investigation-Inland Revenue revealed that 658 offices of the Sindh government found defaulters of tax. He said that an amount of Rs 42 billion is outstanding against government departments. These department includes police department, town officers, schools, colleges, hospitals, chief minister secretariat, civil courts, and population welfare department.
Sources said that all these 658 department did not posses even free tax numbers. Sources said that all the purchases which these departments made are liable to pay sales tax.
hey further said that Director General Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue send notices to all the defaulting departments to clear outstanding taxes at the earliest to avoid further action.
