MULTAN: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has been urged to offer Rs3,000 per 40kg support price for cotton in the coming season.
The demand was raised by Additional Secretary Task Force on Agriculture Ahmed Ali Zafar, while talking to the state-owned news agency. He has said that cotton farmers would get handsome returns in the coming season. During his recent visit to Multan, the official told APP that China had sold the reserve stock and also hoped that it would pick cotton from international markets which could bring handsome returns to farmers. He urged farmers to contact Agriculture department officials for guidelines to produce superior quality cotton.
