KARACHI: TDAP Chief Executive SM Muneer has called on GIZ Chief Technical Advisor Gerald Duda and decided to work together for enhancement of trade within region.
GIZ, with the help of Government of Germany, is networking with 28 organisations of SAARC countries for enhancing trade and commerce in SAARC region.
Gerald Duda highlighted that there is 5% trade in SAARC countries, which is 28% in ASEAN countries. It was informed that GIZ supports through training and network meetings.
Muneer informed the guest that TDAP is a government organization which is bridge between public and private sector. He said that TDAP is also working for enhancement of trade within region. In this connection, the Chief Executive cited the example of Aalishan Pakistan organized by TDAP in New Delhi.
Gerald Duda said that the funding from German government is till 2016 and he suggested funding afterward from member organizations. In this regard, the Chief Technical Coordinator of GIZ will send subsequently the working paper for perusal of the Chief Executive.
