LAHORE: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has introduced Prime Minister’s Export and Innovation Award for top exporters in different categories.
The TDAP has taken these measures to promote the export culture in Pakistan and also encourage the Pakistani exporters to increase exports. As per detail, the award will be given on the “Export Performance” of the last financial year July 2013 to June 2014. The TDAP has asked the exporters to submit their performance report to the department. The award will be given on the basis of duly verified remittances report of the State Bank of Pakistan.
The traders of different categories like textile, leather, engineering, pharma, surgical, sports, agro food, gems and jewellery, carpets and handicrafts, services and others can participate in the contest.
The TDAP has invited interested and eligible exporters to submit their applications on prescribed forms available on the official website along with required documents for consideration in the scheme. The last date to submit the application is January 30, 2015. On the other hand, exporters appreciated the award ceremony but also showed some reservations over the facilities to exporters. They said that exports could be increased by adopting such strategies and polices that help the traders.
