TDAP offers incentives to promote local products globally

GUJRANWALA: Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) has offered an excellent and attractive package of incentives to exporters for holding expo throughout the world for promotion of Pakistan products globally.

Presiding over a meeting of office bearers of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry here Saturday, Chief Executive Officer TDAP SM Munir said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif always attached great importance to welfare of the business community, especially exporters, and it was first time in history that all available resources of TDAP had now been diverted exclusively for the promotion of Pakistan products and exploring the foreign market.

He said in order to fully encourage women entrepreneurs, a nominal fee of Rs 15,000 per stall will be charged from them at all foreign expo.

He said a special counter for women exporters had also been set up one each at all provincial headquarters to facilitate them.

SM Munir said: “He belongs to the business community and has been former president of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and that is why he understands how to serve exporters and address their genuine problems being confronted by them while participating in foreign expo”.

He said a committee had also been constituted to study proposals and recommendations put forth by chambers to further improve an overall working of authority in line with international standards.

He said there was no restriction to any chamber across the country for holding single country expo anywhere in the world.

SM Munir urged exporters to take full advantage of facilities of the TDAP and earn foreign exchange besides promoting Pak products in the world.

President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muhammad Adrees said problems of traders were being resolved on a top priority and all important issues were also being taken up at provincial and federal level for early and prompt redressal.

Vice President SAARC Chamber and Chairman United Business Group Iftikhar Ali Malik said the government had already directed the department concerned to resolve genuine problems of the business community.

He said it was first time that the chief executive officer TDAP was conducting a nationwide tour of all important chambers to have first hand information about their problems.

He said SM Munir who was also patron-in-chief of United Business Group had already visited Lahore, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Vehari, Multan,Faisalabd and Mardan to take stakeholders into confidence on prudent national economic policies and seek their proposals for further betterment.

Earlier, President GCCI Khawaja Khalid Hassan in his welcome address listed the problems being faced by the business community.
