Teens prefer to use YouTube as their most favourite social media, while Instagram comes second

LONDON: The latest GlobalWebIndex (GWI) Social report shows that Instagram, Tumblr and Snapchat are the most popularly used social media tools, with Youtube chosen as the most ‘coolest’ for teens.

The GWI Social report breaks down the latest trends in social networking considered to be the coolest in the UK and US.

Teens (16-19 years old) preferred to use YouTube as their most favourite social media, while Instagram came second, whereas messaging platforms like Snapchat turned out to be ‘cooler’ than WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.

While adults and teens both still chose Facebook as the coolest social media platform overall, only 14% of teens concurred as opposed to 37% of adults.

Adults also used less of Tumblr compared with the younger teens.
