NEW DELHI: Telangana government said to motor vehicle tax critics not to create fuss as it was going slow on collections, on orders of the High Court.
The point was stressed by Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy and Panchayat Raj Minister K.T. Rama Rao at different for a on Friday .
Mr. Reddy told a meeting on the occasion of the release of a CD on road safety, brought out by Telangana Motor Vehicle Inspectors Association, that the State government had strictly collected the taxes as per norms. It did not adopt any vindictive stand against Andhra Pradesh government in the matter.
He also said the government would shortly take a decision on the fitment in salaries of RTC employees. He praised NGOs and colleges that participated in an awareness programme against cell phone driving.
At a press conference separately, Mr. Rama Rao also said the government was implementing orders of the High Court.
Andhra Pradesh was just like any other neighbouring State that was subjected to motor vehicle tax on vehicles going from there into Telangana.
