ISLAMABAD: Telecom sector has shown positive growth during the first two quarters of FY 2017 as total teledensity reached 72.7 percent6 at the end of 2nd quarter of FY 2017-18 compared to 72.5 percent at the end of last fiscal year.
According to economic survey of Pakistan released by Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Miftah Ismail here on Thursday, Telecom Sector Analysis the prime driver of teledensity rise is the growth in cellular mobile subscribers and the teledensity as of February 2018 is 74.2 percent.
Through enabling telecommunication policies and spectrum auction for next generation mobile services, the broadband penetration has jumped from 3.7 million to 52 million.
Information and Communication Technology Sector is pillared on three of the sectors i.eTelecom Sector, Information Technology Sector and National Initiatives for ICTs (IT &Telecom) which is elaborated as under; Telecom Sector Through the enabling policies of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (M/o IT& telecommunication sector in the country has not only witnessed steady growth, but has also contributed to the national exchequer.
