SYDNEY: Telstra has announced it will offer customers on its eligible iPhone plans a free 12 month subscription to Apple Music.

Telstra’s offer is available to Telstra post-paid customers using an iPhone with a 12 or 24 month Go Mobile Plan, the company announced on Wednesday.

At the end of the 12 month membership, customers will need to pay the monthly membership fee of $11.99, which will be billed to their Telstra account.

Joe Pollard, Telstra’s general manager of media and marketing, said Telstra’s offer reflected its commitment to give its customers “world class entertainment experiences”.

“Our customers are telling us they want superior content and we are delighted to be the only telco in Australia to offer a 12 month membership to Apple Music,” she said.

“When you combine Apple Music with Australia’s best mobile network, you get a brilliant music experience that we know consumers will love. This is an incredibly exciting time for music lovers in Australia.”

Rival telco Vodafone offers its customers a similar deal, with 12 months of access to Spotify, Stan, or the Sydney Morning Herald, owned by Fairfax Media, the publisher of this article.
