Tender for construction of important M-8 section issued: Asim Saleem Bajwa

LAHORE: China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Chairman Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa announced that the tender for the construction of an important section of the M-8 has been issued.

In a tweet, Bajwa said that the M-8 would “improve the connectivity of Gwadar Port, revolutionise socio-economic development of the region and bring prosperity through addressing the long term deprivation”.

According to Bajwa, the highway, situated in the remote districts of Kech, Awaran, “is a beacon of light for the impoverished people of South Balochistan and will change their lives”.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to launching and completing all projects in Gwadar, “in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision”.

The Ratodero Gwadar Motorway (M-8) will start from Ratodero in Sindh and enter Balochistan passing near the towns of Khuzdar, Awaran, Hoshab, Turbat before joining the Makran Coastal Highway just east of the port city of Gwadar.

The M8 will have 4-lanes and a total length of 892 km.
