LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Finance Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha has visited Tevta Skills Expo 2015 at Skills Expo Johar Town and lauded the contribution of the authority in overcoming the unemployment.
She said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given prime importance to train skilled manpower of the province of the Punjab. Tevta is on the right track to introduce demand driven short courses as per requirement of the industry, she added.
Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha said that provision of job opportunities to the youth of the province are the priorities of the Govt. It is encouraging step that Tevta is spending its major portion of development budget on students training instead of spending on brick and mortar. Govt. has allocated sufficient budget for the promotion of vocational training for the current financial year. Without promoting technical education and vocational training, economic growth is not possible. Introduction of demand driven short courses are the need of the time which will give fruitful results and our industry will not only get trained manpower but also new job opportunities will be provided to trained manpower.
At this occasion, Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that 60 national and multinational companies placed their stalls. Human resources committees of different companies conducted on the spot interviews of 4125 students.
Moreover, different participated companies in this Job Fair collected 14328 CV’s and job applications of pass out students. Tevta pass outs were offered job opportunities by different companies. As per report of these companies, there are 4225 jobs available in different technical skills.
