Sheikh said that SLMIS developed by Tevta Punjab would provide key information on Punjab’s labour market, including market trends, skill training opportunities in different trades & technologies, data of passing out students and job seekers as well as vacancies for skilled personnel in the industry.

“This system will help reduce unemployment in the fight against poverty and enable the skilled youth of Punjab to contribute towards socio-economic development of the country,” he hoped.

Tevta chairperson further said that the information system, which had been successfully launched in February 2016, was being appreciated at national level by NAVTTC that is working to introduce similar systems in other provinces as well.

Presently, CVs of 2, 61,042 trainees are available for recruitment.  Similarly, employers are regularly posting available jobs. “Around 500-600 jobs remain available both within country and abroad and the number is increasing with each passing day,” he concluded.
