HIDALGO COUNTY: Police have charged a 27-year-old La Joya man with a second-degree felony after two bags of cocaine fell from his crotch during the jail booking process.
Officers arrested Jesus Antonio Arredondo Molina, 27, of La Joya, according to Hidalgo County court records.
Prosecutors filed civil forfeiture paperwork to seize the truck Molina was driving that day.
A tipster called Mission Crime Stoppers about Molina, according to a sworn affidavit filed by a police detective.
“The tipster said that a male named Jesus Molina would deliver cocaine in the Mission area,” according to the affidavit, which added that Molina drove a white truck. “The tipster also indicated that Molina would hide the narcotics in his crotch area when pulled over by police.”
Police began following the white truck, and stopped the vehicle near Anita Street and Mile 2 Road.
“During the stop Molinda became extremely nervous, almost admitting to delivering narcotics,” according to the affidavit.
Police arrested Molina after finding 51 penicillin pills in the truck, according to the affidavit.
Jailers booked Molina at the Mission Police Department.
During the booking process, two baggies fell from his pants.
“The contents tested field positive for cocaine,” according to the affidavit. “Molina admitted to having the cocaine hidden behind his testicles.”
A judge charged Molina with possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and possession of a dangerous drug, a Class A misdemeanor.
Molina couldn’t be reached for comment Sunday at a telephone number listed in court records
