Textile mills partially resume operations in Pakistan

KARACHI: A number of textile mills have decided to partially resume their operations in the county, after the green signal from the provincial government, it was learned on Tuesday.

“Regarding temporary suspension of the Company’s production activities/ operations, we would like to inform that the provincial government has allowed the textile companies to resume their operations,” said Kohat Textile Mills Limited, in its filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

“In light of such permission, the company has partially resumed its production activities/ operations. The Company will inform the Exchange as soon as its production activities/operations are fully resumed,” the company added.

Similar statements were filed by Masood Textile Mills Limited and Saif Textile Mills Limited at the bourse. The mills were shut in wake of provincial government lockdowns amid the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Earlier, DG Khan Cement Company Limited and Philip Morris Pakistan Limited announced to resume their operations, after relaxation from the government.
