Thai police nab smuggler with 600,000 meth pills

PATHUM THANI: Narcotics Suppression Bureau police on Monday arrested a man with 600,000 methamphetamine pills in Lam Luk Ka district of Pathum Thani province.

NSC chief Pol Lt Gen Rewat Klinkesorn said the suspect, identified later as Wichai Khunsit, 31, a native of Sakon Nakhon province, was followed by a police team from Non Sung district of Nakhon Ratchasima province along Mitrapap highway after they received a tip from informants.

The police showed up for a search when the man stopped his car at the parking of a department store in Lam Luk Ka district.  They found on the back seat of the car 600,000 methamphetamine pills.

Police said Mr Wichai claimed he was hired for 150,000 baht to deliver the drugs from Bung Kan province to a client in Pathum Thani.
