Thailand NSB police seize 300,000 meth pills, clutch two smugglers

BANGKOK: Thailand Narcotics Suppression Bureau Police have seized 300,000 methamphetamine pills and arrested two smugglers in Ayutthaya province, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau said here the other day.

Pol Lt Gen Rewat Klinkesorn, the NSB commissioner, said at a press conference here the other day that Puchong Rerkpayak, 46, and Anon Pokham, 31, were arrested while leaving a petrol station in Muang district where they met, unaware they were being watched by a team of police following up a tip.

Mr Puchong left the petrol station on a motorcycle, followed by Mr Anon in a Toyota Vios. Police stopped the two for a search and found in the car 150 packages containing a total 300,000 methamphetamine pills. The two were charged with possession of illicit drugs with intent to sell.
