Pol Lt Gen Thanitsak Theerasawat, chief of Provincial Police Region 5, said during a police press conference that the arrest followed information that a member of a Muser drug gang had smuggled the drugs into the country. A police informant posing as a drug buyer then contacted the woman to buy the drugs and this led to her arrest.

The woman was a member of a major drug trafficking gang led by a tribal man identified only as Jalapor, said the police region 5 chief.
