LONDON: Ready At Dawn’s The Order: 1886 is the first major AAA PlayStation 4 exclusive release of 2015. The hype surrounding the game is massive, graphics/visuals looks really close to cinematic, however there is a big question mark of gameplay length. From well know industry insider (Shinobi602) to PS4 owners who received legit retail copy early, all say just one thing: “The Order: 1886 is 8-10 hours long, and 10-12 hours (if player decides to go for everything)”, with no sign of any replayability value.
The Order: 1886
Is this game worth $60? PlayStation 4 has many options for lengthy games: “Dragon Age: Inquisition, Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry 4, Wolfenstein: The New Order” and many other, almost of these games clocked in around 20 hours, and its an impressive figure.
Around 10 hours of campaign is acceptable for games like Call of Duty where multiplayer is the main focus, but it can’t be justified for a stand alone adventure game (and also especially for current-generation).
Another point that is pretty important and valid one is “Quality vs Quantity”. The price tag doesn’t matter if the quality is. This is indeed a valid point but in case of The Order: 1886, we just simply don’t know yet. Also, The Order: 1886 is a new IP and there is a 50-50 chance that it will either be “Success or Flop”. It will be a foolish thing to ride the hype train too much on pre launch titles (and the perfect example i can provide here for “too much hype pre-launch” is that of Bungie’s Destiny).
Now we want to ask you guys: The Order: 1886’s Campaign Length Is “10 Hours” Long (As the rumors suggest), is it worth $60 price tag?
