Three-day capacity building training program for customs collector, directors’ concludes

LAHORE: A three-day Mandatory Capacity Building Training Program for BS-20 officers was held at Customs House and concluded on positive note here on Friday.

“The basic objective of the training of the Collectors and Directors was to revise important management tools for better performance. Such trainings sharpen skills and abilities to improve performance in the field,” Directorate of Training & Research (Customs) Director Zulfiqar Youns told Customs Today.

The good thing was that all the officers fully participated and showed their interest in the training session. I am happy that it was a good venture, Youns added. As many as 22 Collectors, Directs and others took part in the three-day brainstorming session.

Directorate of Internal Audit (Customs ) Lahore Director Ms Adila Rehman and others including MCC Appraisement Lahore Collector Zahid Khokhar, Collector of Customs Adjudication Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation (Customs), Lahore Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, MCC Customs Collectorate Faisalabad Collector Tauseef Ahmad Qureshi, MCC Multan Collector Sefraz Ahmad Warriach, Director of Post Clearance Audit Lahore Imran Saud, MCC Lahore Preventive Collector Mukarram Jah Ansari, Collector of Customs Appeal Lahore Asif Mehmood Jah, MCC Sialkot Collector Dr Zulfiqar Ali Ch, Collector of Customs Adjudication Lahore Ahmad Raza Khan, Directorate of Input, Output Co-efficient Organization North, Lahore Muhammad Sadiq and OPS Director Mirza Mubashar Baig took part in the training.

The training was inaugurated by Central Region Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki.

On the first day of the training participants were trained on leading organization through innovation, a prospective on Strategic Trade Policy Framework and Tax Policy and Resource Mobilization by Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Amjad Saqib, Former Secretary Commerce Suleman Ghani and Ex-Secretary Finance and Revenue Division Salman Siddique.

On the second day the participants were told about WeBoc System. Overview for supervisory officers, public ethics, tax reforms by Syed Tanveer Ahmad Director, DGTR Karachi, SA Alam Former Director General Training & Research Customs FBR, Ramzan Bhatti, Member Tax Reforms, Commissioner , FBR.

On the third day the participants were imparted Effective Tax Audit, PPRA, rules & effective public procurement by Shabbar Zaidi, AF Ferguson & Co and Ali Raza, Director Internal Audit Customs Islamabad. However, the participants were eager to know more about the WeBoc System.

The participants were distributed certificates by the chief guest Rozi Khan Burki.

Others including Additional Director Traning Mona Aslam, IT Support Officer Javaid Shaukat, Inspector Ahmad Yar Bhatti and Inam Wahid were also present on the occasion.
