Three divisional benches of IHC adjourn hearing of tax references

ISLAMABAD: Three division benches of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of several tax references involving Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue and Customs Appellate Tribunal.

An IHC division bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard a customs reference and adjourned the hearing until July 28 with a direction to parties to submit related documents before the court on the next date of hearing.

M/s United Express had filed the customs reference against Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad in which it had challenged tribunal decision before the court.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case filed by Muhammad Asif. Asif had challenged ATIR’s decision before the court. The bench adjourned hearing of the case till September 17.

Bench of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard two cases filed by Army Welfare Hoisery Project and M/s Shifa International Hospital Limited against ATIR and Customs Appellate Tribunal respectively. Hearing of these cases was adjourned till July 14 and November 30 respectively.
