LUCKNOW: Three members of a narcotics smuggling gang were arrested in Rampur and contraband worth Rs 45 lakh was allegedly seized from them.
On a tip-off, a team of STF and Narcotics Control Bureau personnel late last night stopped a car near Zafrabad turn in Vilaspur police station area and nabbed the three passengers who tried to flee, an STF release issued here said.
Some 30 packets of charas weighing 30 kg were seized from a specially created cavity in the rear seat of the vehicle, the release said, adding that the contraband is worth Rs 45 lakh in international market.
They admitted that they were bringing the contraband for supplying in Rampur.
