Three perishable goods loaded trucks auctioned

ISLAMABAD: The Auction Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad received Rs2.00million by holding the auction of three trucks of perishable goods during the last two days (November 16 and 17 2017).

According to details given by Mazhar Hussain, In-charge of State Ware House (SWH) Islamabad, that, after getting an approval from Saeed Khan Jadoon, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, the Auction Cell called the routinely participating bidders of perishable goods from Rawalpindi and Islamabad to take part in the public auction.
The auction was held under the supervision of Deputy Collector Tahir Iqbal Khattak under the Customs Act-1969. During the auction, three trucks were sold in two days. The trucks auctioned were impounded before two days by the Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad from different locations under the jurisdiction of the MCC Islamabad.
The perishable items, comprising fresh ginger loaded on three trucks, were auctioned against Rs2.00million including all duties and taxes. The successful bidders deposited 25% cash out of the total amount on the spot and rest of amount will be paid during next five to seven working days. The auction was held according to the Customs bylaws with a transparent manner.
